Joel B. Jay
Joel serves as Deuel County Attorney since elected in November 2014. His current practice also includes acting as City Attorney for the City of Chappell along with other civil matters such as real estate transactions and probate.
He attended college in Kansas and received his law degree from Washburn University School of Law in Topeka, Kansas. Following law school, Joel was a public defender in Junction City, Geary County, Kansas and then an associate defense attorney for Rork Law Office in Topeka, Kansas.
Joel grew up and graduated high school in Paxton, Nebraska. In 2001, he returned to the area and established a practice in Chappell. His Nebraska law career began as a criminal defense and juvenile lawyer along with a variety of civil, corporate, real estate, probate and estate planning clients.
Joel and his wife, Amy, have three children. They served separately as president of the Creek Valley School Board. Joel is a member of the Chappell Economic Development team and was chairman of the Chappell Community Fund inaugural event.
